Trust, files, and your responsibilities
How we publish installers, why security tools sometimes disagree, and what you must decide before saving someone else’s upload.
TubeMate is a local Windows program. It does not upload your library to our servers. Risk rises when installers are taken from random forums instead of this domain.
Official download policy
youtube-downloader.app links only to installers we publish here. Third-party mirrors may change bytes or attach unrelated software.
Hash verification
Each release lists SHA-256 (and legacy SHA-1 where noted). Compare after download; mismatches mean delete the file.
Engines score behavior, not intent. A clean hash plus a second scanner you already trust beats panic uninstalls. SmartScreen often warns on new or rare files even when signed.
Legal use rules
- Allowed: your own uploads, licensed classroom media, Creative Commons where terms permit saves.
- Not allowed: ripping paid courses, bypassing geo locks you do not own, redistributing without license.
User responsibility
You confirm hashes, run antivirus you trust, and store only content you may keep offline. We provide files and docs; we do not police your folders.
Version numbers, sizes, and fingerprints are posted beside each installer. When a build changes, hashes change in the same update cycle.
Saved media stays on your drive under paths you choose. The site itself does not operate user accounts or cloud libraries for your downloads.
